Hailing from Palermo, Sicily, Mimmo Cuticchio is a master-puppeteer known for his extraordinary intuition for quality sound and extreme attention to detail. Described as one of the last true heirs of this Sicilian theatrical tradition, Cuticchio infuses his puppeteering with the art form of "cunto" in which the word becomes sung in lively fashion by rhythmic distortion of the breath.
Mimmo comes from a family of distinguished puppeteers and is now passing the traditions to his son, Giacomo. He has several film credits including roles as the Puppet Narrator in The Godfather, Part III (1990), and Ernesto in Terraferma (2011). Not yet released, Cuticchio has also narrated the film Quijote, an experimental drama which relays the tale of Miguel de Cervantes's seventeenth century novel.
